Satay Peanut Sauce

Jun 29, 2023

If you’ve ever had our yummy tofu satay, you know why people request this recipe — another café favorite sauce that you might find yourself eating with a spoon and adding to just about anything!

Depending upon how you intend to use the sauce, this recipe makes 3/4 cup, which can go a long way if using just to top off your tofu or tempeh. If being used for peanut noodles, it will serve 4.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 2 TBS tamari
  • 1 TBS brown sugar
  • 1 inch of jalapeño with seeds, add more if you like it spicy
  • 1 TBS sesame oil
  • 2 tsp Ginger People sweet ginger chili sauce
  • 2 oz hot water

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together in a blender until smooth and creamy.

Top your favorite dish of noodles or veggies. Get creative. We put it on spaghetti (you can use any favorite pasta or rice noodles) and top with chopped peanuts and fresh scallions.

Can be served at room temperature or cold.

Store in the refrigerator.

Note: If you can’t find the Ginger People sauce (which is a great sauce to have in your fridge as a staple for slaws, stir fry’s and marinades), you can try this mix instead:

Add

  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper

This makes a wonderful easy-to-make appetizer or summer meal that’s creamy, flavorful and crave-worthy!
